The product
What is Metena?
An app for iOS and Android that helps you write your crypto investment strategy, have it analysed by an AI, test it on historical data and check that you are following it.
Is this investment advice?
No. Metena analyses your strategy, flags its weaknesses and suggests adjustments. Decisions are yours, and no asset is recommended to you.
Does Metena tell me what to buy?
No. Metena recommends no asset and gives no buy or sell signal. It analyses your rules and your positions.
I have no written strategy. Is this for me?
Yes. The app asks its questions one by one and starts from what you already do. Starting templates exist if you would rather not begin from a blank page.
Do I have to connect an exchange?
No, it is optional. Connecting an exchange or a wallet lets you compare your strategy with what you actually hold.
The AI diagnostic
How is the health score calculated?
Each agent returns a status: healthy, to watch or critical. A pillar’s score is the average of its agents, and the score is the average of the eight pillars weighted by their weight. The details are on the Method page.
Does the diagnostic run by itself?
No, it runs when you ask for it. The morning brief and the alerts, with Premium, are automatic.
How long does a diagnostic take?
One to two minutes.
Can the AI be wrong?
Yes. The diagnostic cites its sources, flags insufficient data and says when its analyses contradict each other. Backtests are calculations on historical data, with no AI involved.
Which AI models are used?
Those of Mistral AI first. When Mistral is saturated or unavailable, the request may be handled by DeepSeek, Google Gemini or OpenAI.
What is a backtest worth?
It shows how your rules would have behaved on historical data, crises included. It does not predict what comes next.
Security and data
Can Metena move my funds?
No. Metena never places an order and only asks for read-only keys. A key that allows trading or withdrawals is rejected whenever the exchange lets us check.
Which exchanges are supported?
Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, Bybit, KuCoin and Crypto.com, plus your wallets through their public address.
Where is my data hosted?
The server is in the United Kingdom and the database in the European Union. AI requests are processed by Mistral AI in France, and may be processed outside Europe during an overflow.
Is my data resold?
No. Metena does not sell or rent your data.
How do I delete my account?
From the app’s settings. Your data is erased within 30 days.
Pricing and trial
What does the free plan include?
One strategy, two AI diagnostics in total, one backtest, ten messages a day with the Owl and tracking of your portfolio, with no time limit.
How much does Premium cost?
€11.99 per month billed each year, that is €143.88, or €19.99 per month with no commitment.
Does the trial require a card?
Yes. A payment method is requested at the start of the trial, by the App Store or Google Play. Nothing is charged for 7 days.
What happens after the 7-day trial?
Unless you cancel, the first payment is taken at the end of the trial, at the price of the plan you chose. If you cancel before then, nothing is charged and the free plan remains available.
How do I cancel?
From your App Store or Google Play account, in the Subscriptions section. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
